The Pelican Waterfront Cottages - A Truly Tropical Experience

Boating
If being out on the water is your thing then we have the perfect location. The Pelican is located directly on the Florida Bay, and offers an accessible boat ramp and two docks, allowing you to pull your boat right up to a wonderful stay. With our serene ocean water and year-round mild air temperature, Key Largo is the perfect boating destination. Boating allows you the option of relaxing on the reefs, fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, or simply cruising the clear waters. There are also plenty of lovely birds, wildlife and plant life for you to observe.

Fishing
The Florida Bay is known for gamefish including Tarpon, Bonefish, Snook and others. Try your luck at catching the “big one,” or the “small one” off The Pelican’s fishing pier or take a charter boat for some intense off shore sport fishing. If you catch one large enough to eat, BBQ time! (we have an open BBQ area just for our guests).

National & Local Parks
The Florida Keys also provides plenty to do on shore. You can make outings to Harry Harris Park or the Jacobs Aquatic Center, or visit Dolphins Plus or Dolphin Cove where you can swim with these friendly and highly intelligent mammals. Take an airboat tour of the Everglades or an ecology tour around the neighborhood. Stop in the local wild bird sanctuary, visit an alligator farm close by, rent a houseboat or take a glass bottom boat ride. Theres something to do for everyone.

There are several excellent restaurants in the Key Largo area to choose from, most look out over the Bay or Ocean. Seafood restaurants abound and alligator is more prevalent than in the rest of the Keys. You will be able to find Cuban, Mexican, Caribbean, Italian, Thai and Japanese fare.
